O Titus! thank you for a fine 2008 and look forward to 2009... [December 14th 2008]

Well we've had a good year. It started with O Titus! in a quandry as to our format. We went from four-piece to three-piece at the end of 2007 and stuck with it after a support set with Babyshambles in December 2007 and a couple of February '08 gigs when we finally decided to stick with the three-piece format. Since then we've re-written, re-stocked, re-recorded, re-dressed eveything to get O Titus! to where we want it, and we're keeping on with it. Our single release in May 2008 was a particular highlight as was playing in Camden Town Hall with IMT Smile. Then we had our first ever European festival in August, a support slot with the fabulous Thomas Truax, watching the soundcheck was a fine moment, and as the year wound down we knuckled down to start recording. To top off the year we played The Up All Night XMAS Extravagaza on Friday night and we had a ball, might have had something to do with the cheap alcohol on sale...

A big thank you to everyone who has come along to see O Titus!, bought a CD, our t-shirts, downloaded our tracks, it was a good 2008, hears to a better 2009...

Martin, Ivan & Leigh [O Titus!]

O Titus! Christmas Party, new website & a fine couple of gigs, oh yeah and we're on the cover CD for iPod User Magazine... [November 24th 2008]

Stop press, 12th December 2008, O Titus! play at the UP ALL NIGHT Christmas Party. It's going to be a big one, 10 bands, 2 stages cheap booze, £5 entry and yep the heating will be on all night so come and enjoy a Friday of festive fun with O Titus! and 9 more of the best unsigned bands in London. We'll have a flyer up on our front page closer to the date, so do check back...

On the technological front we have a new website in the making. We're hoping to roll it all out in the new year. It's been designed by Ms Lauren Mortimer, and well early indications are that it will be an elegant and eye pleasing addition to the O Titus! armory.

October and November saw O Titus! doing what we hope we do best, a couple of London gigs and a venture to the midlands which left us twisting and shouting as best we know possible. Our halloween gig went down a storm, we got dressed up in skeleton outfits, how original, and played a chilly but raucous early set, which allowed us to enjoy the fine talents of the headline act Thomas Truax with one too many beverages in our bellies. Thank you to the good people at The Five Families for putting us on again, we hope to see them again soon. November 19th and we were playing in trendy old Hoxton square. Well anyway it was a great gig, Free entry meant it was full of punters who wanted to see live music and enjoy themselves, and well the compere, Mr Richard Tyrone Jones kept us all very entertained as did The Refuseniks, Lil Lost Lou and the perplexingly named Scrotum Clamp.

If you're in WHSMITH or BORDERS do check out the ipod user magazines, as we're featured on the covermount CD for IPod User Magazine this month. Enjoy...

O Titus! back in the Podcast world... [October 29th, 2008]

A trip to Slovakia, new demos and future plans....
(September 18th 2008)

Towards the end of August 2008 we headed off for a weekend break to Slovakia, 2 gigs, one in Prievidza and a festival in Bratislava, were some of the best gigs we’ve played. The crowds were welcoming, energetic and downright fun to play to. A video of the aforementioned Prievidza gig is viewable below. We’re playing a new track entitled ‘Girls, Girls, Girls, Girls.’

We look forward to being back in Slovakia soon. In case you haven’t already heard them we’ve got three new demos available on our website for the kind hearted amongst you to download and listen to. The links/titles are below.

Mr[s] Ali Darling
[Free MP3 Download]

Columbia Market
[Free MP3 Download]

The Despicable Whores
[Free MP3 Download]

Plans, plans, plans for O Titus!. We’re currently shopping round our new demo, hopefully we’ll get some feedback from a few industry sources, hopefully it shall be good, either way we’re just going to keep on plugging, writing, recording, gigging and having a fine time until one of our legs drops off. Then we’ll just have to keep on going after the inevitable surgery…. See you at a gig soon….

Off to Slovakia we go...
(August 13th 2008)

So we're off to Slovakia for our first gigs over there on 15th August. To celebrate we've just put a new demo up for you kind souls to download. Mr[s] Ali Darling. We'll post videos of the expedition soon...

From a field in Cambridge to Bratislava....
(June 18th 2008)

Oh apologies, apologies, we have indeed been very lax in updating this website as of late. We've been up to a few things since we last surfaced on here. We had a succesful gig at 229 with the kind kind people from the Five Families. It was a nice venue, with a nice soundsystem. Our late stage time meant the show was a bit less predictable than our usual unpredictable selfs and well it was a good one.

Then we headed to a field in St Neots. A joyous gig, in the dark and at one point in the pitch black due to a stage light blowing up. Then we partied the night away by a huge bonfire with a few horses. We may well have a few pictures to put up from the evening. Thanks to Nick who organised the whole thing and put us on in his farmyard along with the cheeky chappies Elmore.

And yep, we just confirmed a couple of gigs in Slovakia for mid-august, more on those as things develop, but needless to say we're looking forward to it. Recording is also high on our agenda, a summer in the studio awaits....

Upcoming Gigs, Store Opening & Single Release Party Report
(May 13th 2008)

Check out the upcoming gigs section for some future dates, we've opened our store on the home page and we've got an enjoyable report to come soon from the single release party....

Single Launch, IMT Smile Support, Radio Session & More
(April 28th, 2008)

So the single launch fast approaches and with it a party. We'll be releasing the Seagulls/Loopy Loo double A-side and the STEEMEASY EP on May 2nd 2008. The Vinyl CD will be available from our website and at gigs and the EP will be a download only offering on iTunes.

To coincide with the release we'll be having a party at The Slaughtered Lamb on May 2nd. We'll be playing with support from The Vinyl Stitches and James Nicol and the party will keep going late into the night with Faith and Bella Dear of Ye Olde Axe Fame spinning some rockabilly offerings suitable for all the family. If you want to come along it will be £5 on the door or £3 via the guestlist, we've got a few spaces left so email info@otitus.com and we'll do what we can to get you in for the price of a pint.

We've been busy gigging away this month, practicing and even doing a cheeky little session for the ever enjoyable Tuckshop Community Radio. On April 19th we supported IMT Smile. In Slovakia they are the cream of the crop, and our performance gathered some press, believe it or not, in the slovakian showbiz world.. Ivan's old contacts on the european network seemed happy and we look forward to an enjoyable future on the continental market. We also did a session on Tuckshop Community Radio, which you can hear by pressing this link. We played three tracks, Loopy Loo, Seagulls and a new number entitled Mr[s] Ali Darling. We hope you enjoy!

Earlier on in the month, April 14th to be exact we played at The Amersham Arms Playing the Field competition. It was a chance to win a slot at Field Day. Unfortunately we didn't win, but we got the crowd dancing. An electro outfit 'Toy Toy' got through. We may have been out of the catchment area for the competition. We enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. Last but not least we got reviewed on the Noize Makes Enemies Website. An honest review, which gives us something more to aspire to I feel. It's the first review we've got on the big music websites, enjoyable but not quite there yet I think was the message, which I think we're well aware of. We'll keep working on it, so thanks Colin!

Apologies also for the lack of website updates recently, we hard a hard disk failure which has been somewhat of an annoyance 2 weeks before we release a single. We look forward to seeing you on May 2nd, and if not go buy the single...

Blog Reviews, Playing The Field & Yellowblack Cancellation
(March 17th, 2008)

Well some good news on the internet PR side of things. We've had two nice blog writeups over the past week. One is a general lovely gesture of kindness to us on Tuckshop Community Blog, the other a live review of our Spice of Life gig on 7th March. Click on the links below to have a read...

HAIL O TITUS! - Tuckshop Community News - March 7th

O Titus! @ The Spice of Life - Amelia's Magazine Web Blog - March 16th

Gigwise we've had some great news and some annoying news. First off the good. We've managed to secure a place in a competition to play at Field Day Festival. There are 4 heats, 1 band goes through from each to the final and a winner is selected. So we're one of 12 bands to get selected which is pretty exciting. Well give it our best shot and you never know ey! The annoying news is that we've had to cancel our Yellow Black gig. We received the contract through for the gig, about 2 months after booking it and the contract we received did not sit well with our bellies. A lack of communication between the two parties is probably to blame. Anyway, we're not playing there on April 9th as previously advertised, but well we are playing at The Amersham Arms about 5 days later so it's hopefully no real loss. We've had a bit of bad luck with gig rescheduling over the past month or so but there's a lesson in everything though...

The Spice of Life, free DVDs and Party Time...
(March 9th, 2008)

So on March 7th we played at The Spice of Life a last minute re-arrangement to the trendy streets of Soho from Kentish Town. We were on quite early and we managed to pack in a good crowd for our second gig there this year. From our point of view we feel we're getting tighter and a lot more concise with our live set, and most importantly it seems people are picking up on it. During the set we trialled the giving out of DVDs, our gal on the floor got rid of them in no time at all, so we'll have to get more done. If you didn't get one and would like one send us an email at info@otitus.com with your address and we'll send on out. A good night all round, and hopefully a sing of better things to come for O Titus!.

So now attentions turn to our single release. We've been doing a bit of groundwork for the past few weeks, and we're going to grind on with our press efforts. Tis hard without the honky dollar to support us with radio pluggers and press men, but we'll do what we can to the best of our means. To celebrate the release we'll be throwing a party, where we'll play a juicy set, get another couple of bands in and some DJs and have an old fashioned O Titus! east-end ho-down. It's on Friday May 2nd at The Slaughtered Lamb, near Old Street Tube. We're going to have some form of discounted guestlist for everyone who wants to come along, so email us at info@otitus.com and we'll put your names down. We'd love to let everyone in for free, but it's not quite feasible at this point of our young careers, it will be cheap anyhow. Cheers for now, we'll post another update of our goings on soon...

Digital EP and a Limited Edition Vinyl CD Released on May 2nd.
(February 21st, 2008)

The double A-side will be Seagulls and Loopy Loo and we'll have 100 of them on sale for about £2 and once they're gone they're gone. Available on May 2nd 2008.

The Digital EP will be called the STEEMEASY EP after our good friend and mentor the three-stage Vacuum. The tracklisting will go 1. Monkeys in a Pickup Truck 2. Seagulls 3. Stephenson's Rocket 4. Loopy Loo and 5. Whistlin Ol'Clangers. It will be available to download through iTunes from May 2nd 2008.

On May 2nd 2008 we'll be throwing a party to celebrate the release of these tracks. It will be at The Slaughtered Lamb, a lovely venue nr Old Street. It's going to be a Friday Night so we'll be getting a few bands and DJs in to keep you company and it will be very very cheap, if not free. That is yet to be decided....

Anyhow, our next gig is on 7th March at The Grand Union in Kentish Town. £5 with a flyer and we're on at 10:00pm. We've got a couple of new tracks as always which we'll more than happily play for your discerning ears. To keep you entertained till then why not watch our latest video for Stephenson's Rocket....

A New track on Youtube & the Website + Feb 1st Gig Update
(January 22nd, 2008)

Well a bit of news to update you with this Tuesday evening in late January. We've recently been writing some new songs what with being a three-piece for the time being, so we thought why not record these songs to a decent standard, make a video and put it on Youtube. Well we did, and you can see one of our new tracks 'Little Baby Sabertooth' performed live in a practice studio in the East End (with a slight guitar overdub because of very poor mic placement).

And on the website front we've recently uploaded a new track entitled Monkeys in a Pickup Truck if you haven't already noticed. This one was produced slightly more professionally with the other demos in ye olde garage with drunken ol'man Spychal at the mixing desk with a wobbly leg.

Last but not least, if you're about on Friday Feb 1st in London, why not check out the O Titus! spectacle at the Spice of Life in Soho. We're on at 10pm and it's a bargain at £5. The flyer is just being updated with our new stage time and will be available shortly...

A New Year... (January 14th, 2008)

We've been a tad lazy updating this site as of late what with turkeys filling our stomachs and shiraz getting in the way of waking up, anyhow we're going to be uploading a load of free demos for you to download very soon, exciting stuff.... Happy new year from O Titus!
